Special Populations Paper BSHS/402 Case Management May 27, 2013 These past four weeks weeks I have learned from this class how to be more understanding and flexible with my clients. By answering these questions I hope to show you how important it is to have the right resources to assist the client. What populations have you reviewed and which one have you selected? I reviewed and have selected developmental disabilities population for my special population paper How and why have you selected this population? How was this area of interest formed? I want to say developmental disabilities population has selected me to be a part of their population. I am very luck to work for a wonderful agency call HeartShare Human Services†¦show more content†¦I also help the client with responsible for returning there RSVP form when choosing a trip the client wish to attend. I let the client know that if there is a problem going on with them and another client or staff member they can always call me and let me know what is going on. What limitations and strengths do you bring to this chosen field? How would you use the strengths and overcome the limitations? The limitation I had when I start working with this population was I did not understand the diagnoses of what the client had. I went to some workshop that the job was offering and was able to understand the different developmentally disalbit that the client have. The strength I do have to work with this population is I am a people person. I enjoy meet new people and it helped me understand this population much better. Are there likely to be multicultural issues to be addressed as you work with this population? How would you address those? Yes there are multicultural issues to be addressed as I work with this population. I address the multicultural issues by talking with the parent or guarding of the client to learn what kind of foods and holiday the client can and cannot participant in.
